Born in Baltimore, Maryland, April 5, 1938. Served in U.S. Marine Corps, 1956-58. Loyola College, A.B., 1962; University of Baltimore School of Law, LL.B., 1969. Law clerk to Judge Walter M. Jenifer, Baltimore County Circuit Court, 1968-69. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1969. Member, Maryland State Bar Association (chair, section on economics of law, 1976-78; member, board of governors, 1979-80; chair, judicial appointments committee, 1981-83). Member, Baltimore County Bar Association (executive council, 1988-; president, 1995-). Board member, Hannah More Center School, 1988.
