NATIONAL CONVENTION DELEGATES


DEMOCRATIC PARTY NATIONAL CONVENTION, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, AUGUST 14-17, 2000

The Maryland Delegation to the Democratic Party National Convention in 2000 included 95 delegates and 11 alternates. Of these, 44 delegates and 7 alternates were elected directly from each congressional district by registered Democratic voters in the primary election of March 7, 2000. In addition, the Democratic State Central Committee selected 26 delegates and 4 alternates at its meeting on May 13, 2000. The remaining 25 delegates, consisting of State party and elected officials, and members of Congress, received automatic bids.

In addition, the Democratic State Central Committee selected 25 delegates and 4 alternates at its meeting on May 15, 1996. The remaining 19 delegates, consisting of State party and elected officials, and members of Congress, received automatic bids.
