Licensed Certified Social Worker, Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners. Board Certified Diplomate, American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work. Member, Maryland Association of Area Agencies on Aging, 1982-92 (chair, 1989-92); National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, 1988-92 (president, 1990-92). Member, Board of Directors, Hospice of Prince George's County, 1983-97; Maryland Gerontological Association, 1995-. Delegate, White House Conference on Aging, 1995. Member, Commission on Legal Problems of the Elderly, American Bar Association, 1996-. President, National Association of State Units on Aging, 2002- (board of directors, 1996). Woman of the Year, Southern Prince George's Business and Professional Women's Club, 1980.
