The four-hundred and seventy-eighth volume of the Archives of Maryland series was originally published in 1941. The Archives of Maryland edition was published in 2002 by the Maryland State Archives. This gazetteer was prepared jointly by the Maryland State Planning Commission and the Department of Geology, Mines, and Water Resources.
